In December 2023, the Asian Records Organization officially established 10 new Asian records for Vietnamese cuisine and specialty gifts. This is the 4th time Vietnamese dishes have reached the top as nominated by the Vietnam Records Organization (Vietkings).
Based on the set of criteria for Asian culinary and specialties records in 2023 , announced for the fourth time, in 2023-2024, Vietnam has 10 dishes on this record list, including 5 specialty dishes, 5 special dishes. Natural products and specialty gifts.

These 10 new dishes reaching Asian records contribute to increasing the number of records for Vietnamese cuisine and specialty gifts to 60 dishes, from 2012 to 2023 (with 38 specialty dishes, 22 natural specialties and local gift specialties).
These 10 dishes are very familiar to Vietnamese people. Their presence is extremely close and has become a community cultural identity. Each dish from a locality is a crystallization of that local culture, people and traditions. With specialty dishes, the way of processing and selecting ingredients for dishes creates unique flavors and experiences of each province. The 5 nominations belong to natural specialties and gift specialties that bring long-standing historical aftertaste, soil or natural conditions typical of the 3 localities of North – Central – South. Specifically, 5 specialty dishes include: Saigon bread (HCMC), mussel rice (Thua Thien Hue province), Phan Thiet hotpot (Binh Thuan province), Ninh Hoa grilled spring rolls (Khanh Hoa province), noodle soup Lieo (Soc Trang province).

Previously, with the nomination of the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings), many Vietnamese dishes and gift specialties were recognized as Asian Records, respectively in 2012, 2013, 2022 and the latest. is 2023.
